The Upper-Town, named “Città Alta”, lazyly laying on gentle hills, is a precious shrine full of works of art displayed in its centenaries old churches, its noble dwellings, its slow rhythms, respectful of the time and seasons, garrisoned by its high medieval towers, protected by the golden ring of the venetian walls, cyclopean guardian of the past, threatened by the solicitations of the pressing progress knock at its gates

Città Bassa the Modern Town

It represents the natural evolution of the old town, developed on the plain following a modern rhythm. It appears like a coagulum of architectures and precious monuments regenerated at the beginning of the XX° Century, in a perfect symbiosis and a constant relationship with the old town on the hills. It is a frenzied town in its every-day life and when the night falls, observing it from the top of the venetian walls, it appears like a wonderful electric carpet laid on the plain.
